telemarketers and the fun you can have with them

the many ways to handle rude people and have fun doing it.

I know that I am not the only one who gets those annoying phone calls at the wrong time. The TELEMARKETERS!  I can say, "No Thank you" and hang up but they will call again and again even after I tell them not to call back.  Well I decided that if they were going to bug me, I might as well have fun with them.  My 19 year old loves it also. One time a lady called to tell me that a certain newspaper would be available in my neighborhood.  I said that was the best news I had heard all day and I  was so happy that she called to tell me that and I hung up.  Another time a man called and wanted to sell me a photo package. So I said, Oh boy, I need some nudes done.  He explained that they didn't do nudes.  Then I said, "You don't?!  Well then piss off."

Sometimes when they call, I will answer the phone and then put the phone in the drawer and walk away. Another time when they called I asked, "Who is this?"  When they tell me their name, I will say sorry but they don't live here and hang up. When my son answers them he can get crude and I woon't go into detail about the things he has done or said to them.

Last week, we got a call from the same number between 15 to 20 times.  When I first talked to them, they said they were going to send me a packet to make money for free but they expected me to pay shipping.  I just needed to give them my credit card number.  You don't ask me to give you my credit card number.  I said no and hung up.  They called for a week many times a day.  No matter what we said or did they would call back and many times it was one right after the other.

I can't turn off my phone because my other kids might need to get a hold of me.I sure get angry though.  I thought ok, how can I make my point to these people.  We had tried calling them back but we would get a message that either the mail box was full or the number had been disconnected.

I realized that I can't physically hurt them or can I?  I went shopping and bought an airhorn.  Next time I tell a place do not call back and they do, well they will get an ear full.

Have fun with the telemarketer, make their lives and jobs a living hell!

Froggy, I live in the US and yes I am on that do-not-call list. I have signed up 3 times but they call anyway. It gets nervewracking and I get to feeling I am being telecomunitically violated.

prasannasutrave,

I agree and if they won't stop at least I can have fun out of it.

Here in Missouri Debi, we have a very strong Attorney general that if you report them there are major fines imposed. I don't get calls from them anymore.

It would be nice if we did but no body does anything.

debi56, May I say it? "You go, girl!" Great hub and great advice. I get these calls everyday. Just today, Oct. 10, got one from a credit card company...funny thing, I do NOT have a credit card. This is a GREAT hub, debi! Enjoyed it very much. You are a great talent. Voted up and all the way across. I am now a fan and follower. Sincerely . . .Kenneth Avery, from a rural town in northwest Alabama, Hamilton, that looks like Mayberry, where Andy and Barney worked. Keep up the great work. Uh, oh, Phone call. See ya later. I mean, read ya later.
